Find Your Peace….

I wish I could have sat my 30-year-old self down and taught him this.

In the last few years I’ve noticed something important: the drama, the haters, the jealous ones, and the ones who talk smack simply aren’t worth my response. Most of them I don’t even know by name. They know mine. Touché… and bless their hearts.

I am secure in the mark I’ve made. My name, my talent, and my service are already documented. I’ve helped a few, saved a few, and affected a few through relationships, deeds, and through music. How lucky am I to have lived that kind of story? I’m thankful, and I can live with that.

Those who have spoken badly of me aren’t some big secret. I hear and discover much of it. They just aren’t worth my time.

In service to my country and my God, I get to say my integrity is still intact.

After 28 years of entertaining as an artist, the connection I shared with the people and the shows is stamped into our community and far beyond—from here to 7 countries abroad, and everywhere in between. I’m humbled by the fans who stood in front of that stage and let me live my dream and my passion.

I can rest now as a veteran of both my crafts.

I’m proud of those who have followed a similar path and share the same fire. I wish them the same kind of joy and success I’ve known.

I hope others find this kind of peace and quiet confidence. It’s the best feeling there is.

The only things that matter now are what Christ thinks of me, the loyal ones, my family, my self-respect, my health, and the next adventure—full of new memories with my amazing wife.
